Wie Toplitz Productions am 16. Januar offiziell bestätigt hat, ist das Spiel Farmer’s Dynasty vorerst nicht mehr auf Steam erhältlich. Ist nun der Release der PS4 Version auch in Gefahr?
Wer sich das Spiel Farmer’s Dynasty bereits vorab als Early Access Version auf Steam kaufen möchte, schaut seit dem 16. Januar in die Röhre. Der Entwickler Toplitz Productions musste das Spiel aufgrund eines möglichen DMCA- Falls von der Plattform nehmen und den Verkauf vorerst einstellen.
Der Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) ist ein Gesetz der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, welches der Umsetzung des WIPO-Urheberrechtsvertrags von 1996 in nationales Recht dient, über die darin für alle Vertragsstaaten vorgeschriebenen Schutzstandards aber noch hinausgeht.
Nun haben die Entwickler sich erstmals im offiziellem Steamforum des Spiels zu dem Fall geäußert. So schrieb einer der Entwickler folgendes Statement:
„A competitor officially filed a DMCA case. Steam is forced to react on such a complaint and took off the store page for now. In our opinion this complaint is an illegal act and abuse of the DMCA law. All accusations are not substantial. We’re currently seeking legal advice and are also in contact with Steam about the further steps. We truly hope the situation will clarify soon and the game will be up for purchasing again. Of course updating will continue and the roadmap is still in focus.“
Nun stellen sich viele Spieler die Frage ob der Release der Playstation 4 Version auch in Gefahr ist. Leider hat sich der Entwickler hierzu bisher nicht geäußert. Auch auf unsere Nachfragen wurde bisher nicht eingegangen. So bleibt bisher nichts weiter als abzuwarten, wie sich der Fall entwickelt. Wir halten euch hier natürlich diesbezüglich auf dem laufenden.
